MOTHER; Celeste Montgomery (formerly Celeste Prideux) FATHER; Cassius Montgomery SISTER; Éliane, age 18 BROTHER; Lysander, deceased Eleanor Madeleine was the first child born to Celeste and Cassius, who had met in Hogwarts and married only a few months after completing their education. Though they were very different, Cassius and Celeste somehow managed to make their marriage work. She was from a small village in France, and despite being from a magical family, Celeste had been raised around Muggles and was very familiar with their habits and customs. Cassius's family, on the other hand, was a British pureblooded family. The Montgomerys couldn't trace their magical lineage as far back as, say, the Malfoys or the Weasleys, but their modest wealth allowed them entrance into the "upper" circles of wizarding society. Neither Celeste's nor Cassius's parents had been thrilled about their wedding, but managed to put their mutual distaste aside for the sake of their children. The birth of their first grandchild brought the Prideuxs and Montgomerys even closer together, and for a time, the Montgomery household was peaceful. Less than two years later, Elaine was born, and though the two girls were complete opposites, managed to get along quite well. They stayed close throughout their Hogwarts years, and were best friends until the day came that would change their family forever. Their baby brother, Lysander, was only five years old when Fenrir Greyback, the werewolf in service to Lord Voldemort, appeared at the Montgomery residence, demanding that Celeste aid him and the Death Eaters. Naturally, she refused. After multiple threats and a few Cruciatus curses, Fenrir's temper got the best of him and he attacked Lysander. Celeste rushed him to St. Mungo's, but there was nothing they could do. Lysander, at the age of five, died the next day. Since his death, the Montgomery family has never been the same. Cassius and Elaine, though they've never verbalised their anger, blame Celeste, who has become a shadow of her former self, rarely speaking and barely eating. Elle, overwhelmed and confused, hardly knows what to think, and prefers to avoid her parents, and their house, entirely. Elaine has since moved to France; she and Elle communicate infrequently via owl post.
